Paul Nice - Chairman

Paul joined Thrive in July 2012 having completed a 45 year career with Barclays bank ending as Managing director of its operations in Mozambique. He is also a facilitator at the International Academy of Retail Banking as well as a Business Development Director at the International Investment Management Group. A keen and able golfer, he also chairs the Finance Sub-committee of the Celebration International school. Paul is a visionary and strategist, a determined player driven by continuous learning, Thrive is proud to have him on board.

Henry Bartram - MD

Henry founded Thrive in January 2012 and has guided its operations since then. Having worked in corporate finance in London until 2003, he then joined the international development sector and ran the British Red Cross operation in Aceh, Indonesia with 275 staff following the Indian Ocean Tsunami before becoming head of Finance, HR and Admin for Merlin in East Africa and Kiva fellow in Liberia and Zimbabwe. In his spare time, he is a keen bridge player.

Patricia Mugabe - NED

Patricia joined Thrive in July 2012. She began her career in insurance in the United States. Upon moving back to Africa she was a strategy consultant for 5 years, 4 spent with Deloitte. She has since joined Steward Bank as the Business Analysis and Strategy manager. A proud mother of 1, Patricia is passionate about developing Zimbabwe and enjoys reading and travelling. She chairs the Risk Sub-Committee on the Thrive board.

Priscilla Tsonga - NED

Priscilla joined Thrive in July 2012. She began her career as an articled clerk with Ernst & Young achieving qualification as a Chartered Accountant in 2007. Since then she has held a number of increasingly senior finance roles and is now Head of Finance at National Foods PLC one of the largest companies in Zimbabwe. She chairs the Finance Sub-Committee on the Thrive board.

Chaimba Nhema - NED

Chamba joined Thrive in January 2012. An experienced banker he has in-depth knowledge of credit assessment and banking processes and procedures. He has helped out with site visits at busy times in addition to his current role as head of finance and admin at a company supplying the mining sector.

Brian Nyabadza - Director of Operations

Brian has been with Thrive since the beginning in March 2012. He studied Agricultural Economics at the University of Zimbabwe and is taking further qualifications in accountancy.

Zenzo Mketiwa-NED

Zenzo joined Thrive as a NED in December 2014. He started his career as a Finance Consultant for a Microfinance institution and then in 2002, joined the NGO sector initially as a Finance and Grants Analyst with CARE international working on the rural microfinance projects, then moving on to Operations and Program development with various International organizations working as a Senior Manager and Director. He enjoys fundraising for development, business strategy, demonstrating program impact and is the Chair for the Social Performance sub Committee. During his spare time he enjoys reading and game viewing.

Pamela Chinhoyi-NED

Pamela joined the board in September 2014 and was appointed as Chairperson of the HR Committee in November 2014. She is also member and Vice Chairperson of the Social Performance Committees.Pamela is a seasoned HR practitioner with 14 years experience in the field and has worked for various reputable organisations in various capacities. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Human Resources Management and a masters degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance. She also holds a full ICSAZ and various diplomas in Human Resources Management. She also sits on the boards for Vault Cosmetics and Smart Entrepreneur Magazine.

Lucia Chibhamu - Branch Manager

Lucy has been with Thrive since the beginning in March 2012. A keen church-goer, she has four children and a hectic schedule balancing work, home-life and studies. She is part-way through her accounting qualifications. She is currently the Branch Manager for Willowvale and she is a member of the Senior Management Team. Her favourite aspect of the work is getting to know and working with the groups.

Anita Guvi - Senior Group Relationship Officer

Anita Guvi Joined Thrive in June 2014. She is a Senior Relationship Officer, having attained a degree from the University of Zimbabwe. She holds various community development certificates. Anita has developed and acquired a special interest in development, poverty reduction, and microfinance and relationship management.

She has gained experience in business training, relationship management, and customer care and debt management. Not only is she passionate about her career , she believes that she can touch the lives of the people she interacts with and is determined to use her beliefs to guide and shape the direction of the developmental microfinance sector. Anita is married with three children. Her hobbies include baking, reading and writing.

Violet Mujuru - Senior Group Relationship Officer

Violet Sillah joined Thrive in June 2014. She holds a BA Honours Degree in Development Studies from Midlands State University. Violet possesses an insightful and intrinsic understanding of Development Finance, Development Economics and Project Management. Violet has an enormity of experience with regards to working with vulnerable groups. She has a strong desire for women and youth empowerment. To this end she is a Senior Group Relationship Officer at the Willowvale Branch. Violet enjoys travelling and participating in outdoor activities and her career objective is to become an indelible contributor to the African development landscape.

Nyasha Kahondo - Social Performance Officer

Nyasha holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Zimbabwe and is currently working towards a Masters degree in Development studies. Prior to joining Thrive in June 2014 she was a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at Plan International. She has over 5 years experience in working with women and children in development. She is the main force behind Thrives Social Performance Management programme and passionate about research.

Aaron Mapupa - Group Relationship Officer

Aaron has joined Thrive since July 2014. He has a passion to improve community livelihoods, and he studying Bsc Agricultural Economics and Management degree at Bindura University. He is a certified Junior Chamber International (JCI) City Zimbabwe member and holds a certificate in Projects & Programme M&E from University of Zimbabwe.

Martha Bozho - Group Relationship Officer

Martha Bozho joined Thrive in July 2016. She holds a BBS Honours degree in Banking and finance from Bindura University of Science Education. Martha is a young lady who finds satisfaction in seeing women attaining their dreams through their hard work. She is a talented keyboard player and worship music minister. She is looking forward to studying for a Masters Degree in Development Finance.

Paul Matsinise - Group Relationship Officer

Paul joined Thrive in June 2014 as an intern. He takes pride in the training that he provides to borrowers thus helping them to make good borrowing decisions. Paul truly enjoys the rewarding experience of meeting all kinds of people and helping them realize their entrepreneurial capacity and financial dreams. He holds a Bcom Honours degree in Finance from NUST and an executive certificate in Credit Management from UZ. He was once a member of the NUST microfinance club coordinating its activities.

Grace Chipungu - Branch Manager

Grace Chipungu is a 27 year old who joined Thrive in March of 2013 as a Group Relationship Officer and has worked her way up to Branch Manager for Chitungwiza. Grace graduated from Solusi University in 2011 with a BSc Agribusiness Degree. She also holds an Executive Certificate in Community Development and Humanitarian Projects Management from the University of Zimbabwe. Grace aspires to be a Chartered Global Management Accountant and she sits with the Senior Management Team.

Leonard Dengezi - Senior Group Relationship Officer

Graduate from Monash University in December 2013 with BSc Communication Media Studies and International Relations. Very much interested in poverty alleviation and is a big subscriber to gender equality. A pro-feminist by nature who aspires to be a global development practitioner.

Adrian Sakwiya - Branch Manager

Adrian joined Thrive in 2013 as an attachee and returned as group relationship officer in 2015. He holds a BComm Hons in Finance from the National University of Science and Technology. He is the Branch Manager for Whitecliff branch, sits with the Senior Management Team and he is currently studing towards being a chartered financial analyst. His hobbies include watching soccer and travelling.

Gertrude Gwini-Field Officer

Gertrude joined Thrive in 2016. She was one of Thrive's very first borrowers back in 2012. Having played a key role in leading her group over three loan cycles she became a community representative for Thrive. Her commitment to improving livelihoods compelled Thrive to give her a much more involving role. Gertrude has done well so far and has proved effective in debt collection.

Tracy Chikuza-Field Officer

Tracy joined Thrive in May 2016 as a Field Officer having been a borrower for over 5 loan cycles. As a borrower she proved to understand the need to empower women and religiously led her group by example until all the group members graduated to be self sustainable. The growth of her business made her a natural candidate for a Thrive community role in which she excelled bringing in a lot of groups to access the life changing Thrive training. She is a committed christian and a mother of four.

Elizabeth Chimidzi-Field Officer

Elizabeth Chimidzi joined Thrive Microfinance in 2013 as a borrower. In May of the same year         she was then appointed as a Community Representative. In 2014 she was nominated to become a Marketing agent. After proving her worth, Elizabeth was promoted to the position of Field Officer in 2016. She is currently studying towards a Diploma in Systemic family Therapy Counselling with ZIST.

Clive Mukonori - Assistant Accountant

Clive is a 28 year old who joined Thrive in May of 2016 as a receptionist. He has worked his way up to Assistant Accountant. Currently taking exams in Accounting and he aspires to be a Chartered Accountant. He loves the logical application of accounting procedures as it makes it seem real than adding up a sum of numbers to make up an amount. Clive enjoys a good happy hour with friends, the sounds of a great music, and seeking adventure in the outdoors.

Calvin Mawarire - Finance and Admin Assistant

Calvin is a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Banking and Investment Management from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). He joined Thrive in 2015 as Finance and Administration Assistant. He seeks to become a specialist in the field of Finance. He re-joined Thrive Microfinance as Assistant Accountant in June 2017. He plans to pursue a Masters degree in Business Administration. When away from work he enjoys reading newspapers and watching Business News Channels like CNBC Africa.

Raymond Chaparira - SGRO

Raymond Chaparira joined Thrive in June 2013 as an intern and rejoined in June 2015 as a group relationship officer. Currently he is the Team Leader for Blue team at Thrive. He holds BComm Honours Degree in Banking from National University Science and Technology, presently is pursuing towards Masters in Business Administration. He is emotionally touched by the idleness of women in the community, therefore advocates for women empowerment. He is a hard worker and has the ability to coordinate for the achievement of set goals and objectives .He is keen church goer and stout supporter for English soccer team Manchester United.

Ronald Phiri - SGRO

Ronald Phiri is a Senior Group Relationship Officer who joined Thrive Microfinance in 2016 after completion of his studies in Finance with the National University of Science and Technology. Passionate about helping poor business women attain finance and financial literacy makes him a natural fit. Working and building lasting relationships that are strategic and meaningful to all parties involved is one of his best missions. Ronald enjoys talking, reading, creative writing and most of all being merry with friends and family. He is grateful for working with an amazing team at Thrive.

Daisy Sibanda - Finance & Admin Manager

Daisy joined Thrive in September 2013. She was formerly a member of a borrowing group. She has a Batchelor of Commerce Degree from NUST, Zimbabawe. Before joining Thrive, she was Finance and Admin officer with a printing firm for five years. She is a keen church-goer.

Memory Tsoro-Assistant Accountant

 Memory joined Thrive in January 2016 as an Assistant Accountant in the finance department. She holds a BCom Hons Degree in Accounting from Chinhoyi University of Technology. She is currently studying towards the ACCA qualification. Previously Memory has worked as an Accountant for 4 years at Celsys Ltd and Millchem Zambia, both owned by Cambria group. She is a devout christian and a proud mother of one.   

Mavis Denga - Receptionist

Mavis Denga became a Thrive Microfinance client in 2013. She started off borrowing in a group and later took an individual loan of which she was one of the first clients and proved to be a strong, committed and reliable borrower. She started to work at Thrive in September 2016 as a field officer. Currently she is the receptionist. She enjoys being part of Thrive family.
